A fellow Wake Forest resident recently called me with concerns about the proper drainage of his home gutters. In our region, it’s very common to have various forms of foliage find its way into those gutters. Leaves, pine needles/cones, dirt, twigs, nests, we see it all in North Carolina.
His home gutters were cleaned the year before, but he had no idea they could fill back up so quickly. Fortunately, we were able to get them completely cleared out before any significant damage could begin to occur. Gutter cleaning is a task most homeowners should consider at least twice per year.
Gutter guards can be helpful, but they don’t prevent everything from getting inside. Always ensure your downspouts are flowing properly. If you have underground drains, you have to be even more diligent. Sometimes those pipes can run a long distance before emptying out properly away from your home and backups are common over those long distances.
If water is running over your gutters during rain events your gutters are likely clogged or full. If left unattended, you could experience a variety of problems such as damage to your facia boards, roof, siding, or foundation.
We are licensed, insured, and experienced in safely cleaning your gutters as well as your other exterior cleaning needs.
